Califone will be doing some shows in Europe, with a lineup consisting of Tim Rutili, Tim Hurley, and Danni Iosello. Since the Tims were in Red Red Meat back in the day, a few RRM numbers will likely be thrown in here and there. Similarly, since the duo of Tim Hurley and Danni Iosello are also known as Sin Ropas, some Sin Ropas tunes should make it into the mix too. Should be fun!

This is Tristan, web guy for Califone.

This post is just to let interested parties know that Pastrysharp.com, the longtime fansite for Califone, has now been merged with Califonemusic.com, Califone’s official site.

I’ve been updating both sites myself for some time now, and during this time, Pastrysharp has basically functioned as a mirror of Califonemusic. With Califone shows and more news on the horizon, this change consolidates all the good stuff into one place. It also cuts the workload in half and reduces confusion when it comes to updating Califone fans.

The Pastrysharp discussion boards remain a great resource for Califone and Red Red Meat junkies, and will not be going away. They are linked on the home page here. Additionally, all of the MP3s, lyrics, previous posts, and other stuff from Pastrysharp have been brought over here.

Califone recently completed a score for the upcoming PBS mini-series The Calling, which airs on December 20th and 21st. Watch the trailer below, and you will hear a score that is unmistakably Califone, their psychedelic blues-folk providing the subtle soundtrack.

On a break from touring with Iron and Wine, Jim Becker and Joe Adamik, will play the Viaduct Theatre (3111 N. Western Ave., Chicago) on December 16. Gillian Lisée will join Jim Becker Band onstage.

Hotel Brotherhood and the Cairo Gang will also play some songs. The show starts at 9:30; admission is $8.

“All My Friends Are Funeral Singers,” Tim Rutili’s Sundance-honored directorial debut, has also been re-released as a collector’s edition. The new edition features a second disc with bonus features, including original artwork from Califone, exclusive music tracks, and more.

Also, in case you didn’t notice, “Funeral Singers” star Angela Bettis made a surprise appearance on last week’s episode of “Dexter!”
